Many times we try to appear to be fine even when we aren't. Being honest with yourself about emotional distress, pain, struggle, fear or grief is essential to begin the healing process. Everyone reacts to difficulty differently. Stress in life can cause symptoms of anxiety, depression, anger, or insomnia to sneak up on us.
